These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ResumAI (the "Service"), operated by getresumai.com ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
ResumAI is an AI-powered resume intelligence platform that helps users build, optimize, and tailor resumes to specific job descriptions. Core features include chronology extraction, ATS keyword analysis, gap coaching, resume synthesis, cover letter generation, and interview preparation.
The Service is provided on a subscription basis with a free tier available. Features vary by plan. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getresumai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not create accounts by automated means or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- ✕Use the Service to generate false, misleading, or fraudulent resume content
- ✕Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract AI model outputs at scale for competitive purposes
- ✕Attempt to circumvent usage limits, authentication, or access controls
- ✕Upload or transmit malware, spam, or content that violates applicable law
- ✕Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third-party rights
- ✕Resell, sublicense, or commercialize the Service without our written consent
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe a violation has occurred.
4. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses large language models (Anthropic's Claude) to analyze and generate resume content. You acknowledge that:
- →AI-generated content may not be perfectly accurate and should be reviewed before submission
- →You are solely responsible for the truthfulness and accuracy of content you submit to employers
- →Generating false credentials, fabricated employment history, or invented qualifications is prohibited
- →We do not guarantee that AI outputs will meet ATS requirements for every employer system
5. Intellectual Property
Your content: You retain ownership of all resume data, career history, job descriptions, and other content you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process this content solely to provide the Service to you.
Our platform: All software, design, trademarks, and proprietary technology underlying the Service are owned by us. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.
AI outputs: Synthesized resumes, cover letters, and other AI-generated outputs are provided to you for personal use. We claim no ownership over the final documents you generate.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
Upgrades/Downgrades: You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
Lifetime plans: Lifetime plan purchases are one-time payments that grant access to the plan's features as they exist at purchase and all future non-enterprise feature additions, subject to these Terms.
Refunds: We offer a 7-day refund for first-time paid plan purchases. Lifetime plans are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase if fewer than 3 syntheses have been generated. After these windows, all sales are final.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account Settings. Cancellation stops future charges; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for unused days on cancellation.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms. Where feasible, we will provide prior notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully before using the Service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that ai-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) $50 USD. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
